Trees are the best technology to extract CO₂ from the atmosphere and thus prevent global warming. WeForest therefore uses planting trees as a means to combat climate change.

But WeForest goes for more. WeForest advocates a world in which different actors work together to manage forested areas to combat not only climate change but also poverty and to protect biodiversity.

Not only do trees provide natural storage for CO₂, they are also important for fertile soil and they improve water cycle and biodiversity. In addition to benefits for nature, wooded areas also provide sustainable income for the local population as they create a micro-economy and local entrepreneurship.

FLEXY & WeForest

Working together on a sustainable recovery of the Atlantic Forest in Brazil

WeForest currently has projects running in Brazil, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia and India.

The Atlantic forest in Brazil has been reduced to green fragments by unsustainable agriculture. This has significantly affected the rich biodiversity in the area. WeForest grows trees to reconnect these forest spots, creating more space for animals such as the endangered black lion monkey.

Flexy is therefore very motivated as a sponsor of WeForest to work together with the consumer on this goal.

Flexy is currently developing a campaign (summer 2020) in which consumers actively participate in this sustainable project. For every Flexy package sold, Noble Health Food will support the project with additional resources.
